Rushing the golf swing can be a huge problem for many weekend or amateur golfers. Sometimes golfers know they have this problem and other times they are completely oblivious to it. If you are swinging your golf club too fast and rushing your swing, it’s good to first of all be aware of it. Once you know this is a problem for you, then you can take the proper steps to begin to eliminate this issue.
There are several reasons some golfers may have a tendency to rush their swings. Trying to hit the ball farther and wanting extra power can contribute to rushing your golf swing. Many golfers are chasing after the perfect golf swing. Some golf instructors think they have the perfect swing and can teach it to you. Unfortunately, there really is no such thing as the perfect swing. Golf swings are unique to each individual. Even the great players on the tour all have slightly different swings. However, there are certain fundamentals that all great players have which you can learn to implement for yourself.

Instead of chasing a perfect golf swing, my advice is to focus on perfecting your fundamentals. This will make you much more consistent and you’ll be able to lower your golf scores. Trying to find some magic secret in your golf swing might never happen and you could get worse from trying to find something new all the time.

Many golfers think the golf swing is difficult and complicated to get correct and repeat consistently. However, this is not the case when you are working on a simple swing model or concept. I try to teach a system for a simple swing that is effective and can be learned without having to practice for hours and hours a day.
Many golf instructors will teach their students as if they were going to be touring professionals. This means they’ll overcomplicate the swing by breaking it down into so many difficult individual parts and pieces, and the fluidity and completeness of the overall golf swing is often lost.
Most golfers are looking to play better and drop their handicaps enough to make a significant difference in their scores so they can have more fun and be more competitive in their rounds with their friends. Getting too technical with the golf swing can often be a detriment to many golfers especially while out playing on the course.
